Faith & Character
Faith should change more than what we say we believe.
If faith is real, eventually there should be evidence that something is moving.
Where This Stands
Unmistakably Christian. Never unnecessarily pushy.
Lead Without Rank is rooted in Christianity and the teachings of Jesus Christ. It's not hidden, apologized for, or tucked into a footnote. At the same time, it's not a sermon in every paragraph, and it never pretends every difficult question has an easy answer.
Derrick will tell you plainly: he's still learning, still studying, still asking questions, still becoming. He's not a preacher or a theologian. He's a man whose skepticism finally met something worth surrendering to — and who is honest about how long that took.
If you're exploring Christianity, returning to faith, or carrying doubts you haven't resolved, you're not a project here. You're the audience.
The Short Version
The Rock hit the water. The water moved.

For years, Derrick described his life as still water — quiet, settled, unmoved. Close enough to faith to observe it. Far enough away that surrender never seemed necessary. Like a lamp sitting near an electrical outlet: everything required to produce light was present. It just wasn't connected.
Then his son invited him to a men's Christian conference. Jesus — the Rock — hit the water. And the ripple that started there is still moving: through his faith, his family, his work, and now this movement.
I'm not a finished product. I'm evidence of movement.
What We Explore
You don't have to pretend you have every question answered before you start seeking God.
Derrick didn't. Bring your questions with you.
